Welcome back, my fellow creatives!
Uffdah, what a week. Now that Blondie’s working, chances to get away in the summer slimmed down to, well, a few days ago. We managed a quick trip to the Northwoods along with a college tour in Minnesota before returning via the Spam Museum.

Still, I’m thankful for any time among the trees and still waters, where otters rest themselves on your steps, and deer are confident enough to give you the side-eye while you drive through their woods.

We all need that kind of recharge now and then, which brings me to the lovely Jan Sikes and her post about updating one’s author profile. It struck me that years have passed since I updated this site, but this is the site that helps folks know who I am. They’re seeing me from years ago, not me now.
Your website belongs to you. It becomes the central place where readers learn who you are, what you write, what you believe, and how they can continue engaging with your work.

And these updates don’t have to be monumental, either. Jan uses the author photo as a great example. Phones take fine photos these days, so doing your own informal headshot is good for your platform AND your wallet.
She also highlights some awesome resources on building a few different kinds of bios. I didn’t even think about some of these, so I’m glad Jan brings them up.
I hope you find Jan’s tips here handy for your profile polish! Coming up, I’ve got more resources, more podcasting, more interviews, and more music. Stay tuned!
Read on, share on, and write on, my friends!

I didn’t know there was a Spam Museum. Adding it to my must-visit list.

I remember hearing about that museum in a Museum Studies course in college.
