Welcome back, my fellow creatives!
We’re at that interesting bit of genuine early summer in Wisconsin. I finally packed up the snow gear. The lakes have (almost) been warm enough to kill off the swimmer’s itch. The air is perfumed by all the neighborhood grills and veterans serving up brats outside grocery stores and gas stations to support their VFW stations. Flea markets and carnivals, cows and corn. I’ve never been a fan of the summer season itself, but as with all seasons, there are always those lovely little things that make even these hot and humid days a time of gratitude.

Speaking of gratitude, I’m thankful for Joy York’s insights on marketing to one’s target audience. There are many reasons I’ve never done an author event, and one of those was portrayed in a scene from Mortal Kombat II. Johnny Cage learns to live up to his destiny by film’s end, but at the film’s beginning, he’s a washed-up kung fu movie star, sitting at a table in a convention, seen by no one.
And I’ve seen the online reports of book conventions imploding and indie authors out hundreds, even thousands of dollars because of these disasters.
Ugh.
So it is MARVELOUS news to hear that there’s a way to reach out to your intended audience without that kind of heartache.
Book marketing should be a planned process, an art if you will.

If you’ve ever wondered how to utilize ads on social media, now’s the time to find out!
Coming up, I’ve got more summer reading to recommend, a handy resource to recommend, and, mayhaps, a fantastical riding trip to recommend. Stay tuned!
Read on, share on, and write on, my friends!

Thanks for sharing that post about Facebook ads.
