Welcome back, my fellow creatives! We’re back with more beautiful brews from fellow indie authors of the writing community.

After a couple rounds of wartime fiction, it is time to partake of something more magical, more fantastical. Who’s up for a bit of monsters and mayhem? I am! So, let’s try Voyage of the Lanternfish by C.S. Boyack.
What does a reader experience in those opening pages, and what lessons can a writer take away in studying but a few paragraphs? Let’s find out!
If you do not see the audio player above, you can access the podcast here.
I had a wonderful time interviewing Craig Boyack a few days ago–click here to check that out! Please be sure to visit his blog for fun writing insights, updates on his writing life, music playlists, and more.
The indie goodness is falling around us like the autumn leaves. Stay tuned!
Read on, share on, and write on, my friends!

Monsters and mayhem! Oh goody!

Nice! We did have Ben’s grandmother over for a traditional dinner. I just let the slow cookers do all the work…well, and Bo handling the turkey. 🙂

I’m a big believer in that day in the life to set the stage. Chapter one isn’t the most exciting, but it ended with a mystery. I promise there are lots of monsters, and includes the most popular monsters I’ve ever created. You can learn more from the reviews. If you look at the cover and title, you’ll get an idea where this is leading. You made it fun, and thank you for sharing it. If your blog will accept a photo, I’ll try to load one.

Many thanks! Hey, You can’t dump all the fun into Chapter 1. Then there’s nothing to build up to! 🙂

Jean Lee read the first chapter of ‘Voyage of the Lanternfish’ on her podcast today. This is a wonderful chance to remind everyone the trilogy will wrap up very soon. In fact I hope to make a big dent in publishing ‘Wreck of the Lanternfish’ this weekend.

I really enjoyed the Lanternfish, and I think the second book is even better, so I can’t wait for the third one! My heart, though, still belongs to Serang and her spin-off book.
