Welcome back, my fellow creatives! We’ll continue tasting the wares of fellow indie authors I have gotten to know in this beautiful community through the years.

I’m thrilled to share a bit of fantastical flavor with you today! Let’s take a sip from Following the Green Rabbit by Chris Hall.
What does a reader experience in those opening pages, and what lessons can a writer take away in studying but a few paragraphs? Let’s find out!
If you do not see the audio player above, you can access the podcast here.
If you’re ever in the mood for unique serial flash fiction and poetry, do check out Chris Hall’s delightful blog!
Be on the look out for more sweet indie goodness in the autumn podcasts to come!
Read on, share on, and write on, my friends!

I read this a while back – a delightful story. 😉

Wow, thank you for featuring the Rabbit, Jean! I’m doing a little happy dance for your wonderful reading (as ever) and your excellent analysis of the start of the story. This novel was such fun to write and I think you brought that out well with your sipping. Cheers! xxx

This sounds a lovely book. The magical atmosphere in the narrative is delicate but unmistakable. And while not copying any of children’s fantasy classics it produces a strong feel that it belongs among them.

Thanks, Paul – how come I missed your comment (remiss of me). I did write the book with some of my favourite classics in mind. 🙂

Reblogged this on luna's on line and commented:
A few weeks ago, I was delighted to discover that my historical fantasy fiction novel ‘Following the Green Rabbit’ was the subject of an episode of author and reader, Jean Lee’s wonderful ‘Story Cuppings’ podcasts. In this series – for picky readers and busy writers – Jean reads and discusses the first chapter of her chosen book, giving listeners a feel for the author’s writing craft and a sense of the story to come. Jean has a superb reading voice and her analysis is warm and insightful. So, I invite you to settle down with a cup of your chosen beverage and listen to what she has to say about my first chapter…
